Extreme Water Sports
In recent years many water sports have divided and evolved into something else. For example the wake skate. It is a combination of skateboarding and wake-boarding. The rider uses a wake-board like board, except there are no boots, so it is like skateboarding. Also there is wake-surfing. A combination of wake-boarding and surfing, when the rider uses a very short surfboard, and rides very close to the back of the boat on the wake. There are other variations like trick skis, when the skis are very short and both ends are rounded, not just the usually 1 end. Another very new extreme water sport is the air chair. The air chair involves 1 giant slalom ski, a chair, a seat belt, and a hydro-foil. This created "the air chair". Using the air chair is very difficultly achieved through extreme balance and coordination. But, the results are incredible, pro riders are able to do multiple back flips with ease and can jump up to 25 feet in the air. It is a very new sport that isn't seen much on lakes or rivers. This means the sport is still young enough to make major changes that could be very beneficial and bring the sport mainstream. I know from experience that the air chair take a lot more skill than it looks.
